I have my site built with two taxonomy vocabularies. One is a category (news, interviews, reviews, etc...) and another that is a tagging system where you write in the artist name that the post is about.
My question is that I'm trying to display links that relate to the Artists vocabulary and not the Category. Is this possible with your module?
Thanks!
This looks like a really nice module and a great addition. Looking forward to trying it out!
I've been trying to read about how CCK (Content Creation Kit) data is mapped to the database. But docs and tutorials are vague on details. What exactly are the capabilities and constraints? How could I script definition of a module and import data into it, outside of the Drupal interface? It kind of sounds like the architecture changes from one major release of Drupal to the next. I've been trying to researching CCK to figure out if it's an instance of an SQL Antipattern like EAV.
According to their project page, it's deprecated since the functionality has been rolled into the newer version of nodewords:
"Starting from version 1.2, nodewords module has full support for canonical URLs. I strongly encourage everyone to use nodewords module instead of standalone canonical_url.
After release of nodewords 6.x-1.2, canonical_url is considered deprecated module and will be shut down after reasonable period of time."

I would also add the canonical URL module (https://www.drupal.org/project/canonical_url) as this is really a big advantage from an SEO perspective

I noticed that error this morning... should be fixed in dev version once the cron makes it available at https://www.drupal.org/project/featured_content

Glad it is working for you...

Thanks!

I have tried a number of 'Related Content' modules and disabled them because they did not offer the featrues I needed. This 'Featured Content Module', however, is unique. It solved my issues immediately, and I must say that the documentation is first-rate (not always the case with Drupal modules).
Highly recommended. Thanks for sharing... I couldn't see a 'Donate' link on this site so I have visited a few of your Google Ads sponsors!

Yes, you can download pressflow instead of the regular drupal core. Here's more info:
http://www.pressflow.org/
Good luck,
Kristen
since press flow is a high perfomance version,is better to download pressflow instead of drupal core, from drupal.org and should i look at replacing my core drupal with press flow? or should i just download only performace modules like vanish e.t.c. thanks in advance.
Glad you are trying it out! You can post questions here, or at drupal.org, or email me directly... whichever you prefer.
Kristen
Kristen,
WOW! great module.
I have a few questions - would you perfer them here or at Drupal?
thanks
JW
That would be an awesome talk, but I'm not the one to give it yet because I've only played around with the Context module and haven't used it yet for a site. Maybe you should present!! :)
I will look into making the Featured Content module play nice with the Context and the Features modules. If there are others you can think of, please let me know.
Thanks!
Kristen
i got here from Drupal.org,after you launhed the featured conetnt feature.
The context module, that was developed by development seed.
The use of context i think takes websites to a all new level. contexts allow you to display information on a site according to what you want to be displayed. forget the day when you were reading a website a bout dog food and next to it there was an ad about, Valentines.
context gives you the power to display ads according to what is being read e.t.c. Most people do not realise the robustiness of the context module and i am Proposing some tutorial about Context.
By the Thanks for the Featured Content Module it is great. i was also wondering if Featured Content Module can work with the context module?
thanks again for the Good work you are doing on Drupal....
I am a Wordpress user but am researching Drupal to see if it is something I want to take the time to learn and implement for some web projects this year. This is one more helpful post about Drupal and how to make it user friendly.
Thanks for the post

Idea #3 - organic groups - example is an education/university site
I have already added the AHAH talk and multi-language site talks:
https://sf2010.drupal.org/conference/sessions/creating-drupal-sites-diff...
https://sf2010.drupal.org/conference/sessions/creating-ahah-forms-form-api
I *may* add one more so I'm still open for input.
Hi Stephen,
You are restricted to whatever replacement patterns (tokens) that are shown for the section you are editing, so you'll have to find the best match for whatever data you need. In this case, for the blog posts, you should have a [user-raw] available if you want the author's name. I'm not sure why it's not consistent between the two... definitely confusing.
Good luck!
Kristen
Thanks for the great site! I'm new to Drupal and it is fairly daunting. But the articles on your site do a great job of consolidating what is important and simplifying it.
My question is: In the article Pathauto 5.x.1.x to 5.x.2.x New Features and Upgrade (I know it's 5.x rather than 6.x, but do these things still apply?) the mention using
For "Content Patterns"
[user] should be [author-name-raw]
but in the "Blog replacement patterns" in the admin section [author-name-raw] is not a given option. IT IS available in the "Node Path Settings" replacement patterns. Can one use that across the board in the other areas or is it variable (replacement pattern) that is not available in the blog?
Thanks
Glad to hear it ;)
Thank you Kristen. This was very helpful. Did not find much on this on drupal.org and your information was golden .. exactly what I was looking for.
-James.
Thanks! I was thinking about that one too... I have done several multi-lingual sites so that would be up my alley.
Kristen
Multi-language site implementation.
Thanks J.P.!
It was long overdue... I liked this simple/clean look from the painted theme. https://www.drupal.org/project/painted
Whatever I end up doing, maybe I'll do a practice run at the April Santa Cruz Drupal user group meeting to see how it goes ;)
